GÉANT Open | How to Connect | Who can Connect | Documents |
GÉANT Open has been designed to be as simple to use as possible and to impose the minimum restrictions on users.
The first step in connecting to GÉANT Open is to complete the
Expression of Interest form. This form does not commit either party to a connection. Once this has been received, GÉANT staff will review the information and contact you to discuss the connection process. In the case of commercial or independent research facilities your eligibility for connection will be assessed.
As soon as eligibility has been confirmed the following documents will need to be completed:
GÉANT Open Service Request form
GÉANT engineers will contact you to undertake a technical review (i.e. to coordinate the technical implementation of the connection). At this point you should make the necessary arrangements to install the network connectivity between your facilities and the Open Exchange. GÉANT will be able to provide contact details for Telecity to arrange connections.
GÉANT Open has been implemented within the Telecity facility in London to allow as many organizations as possible to connect. The provisioning of any network capacity from the connecting partner to the exchange is the responsibility of the participant.
