Research and education are increasingly global in their nature, and consequently GÉANT collaborates closely with its global research and education networking partners, not only to ensure that the required connectivity is in place, but also to make services which benefit end users available to user groups which involve participants in more than one world region.
Collaboration with GÉANT’s global partners covers areas such as network performance monitoring, bandwidth-on-demand, connectivity roaming (eduroam) and federated access (eduGAIN).
The GÉANT community also collaborates with the Latin American R&E networking community in the EC-funded project ELCIRA (Europe Latin America Collaborative e-Infrastructure for Research Activities) which aims to make a variety of end user services available to European-Latin American collaborations.
